Pacific Fair first swung open its doors on 23 August 1977 with 96 specialty shops and one major department store to become Queensland’s largest shopping centre. Both locals and visitors flocked to the mostly outdoor centre to bask in the glorious Gold Coast weather while perusing the many stores on offer. In 1982, the centre undertook its first expansion, welcoming Myer into the fray along with a further 32 stores. It wouldn’t be until the early ’90s that Pacific Fair would gain its famous bright pink façade and a pink lotus flower incorporated into its logo to represent the dramatic rebirth of the iconic Broadbeach space. In 2016 Pacific Fair underwent its most extreme makeover to offer a captivating blend of the world’s best brands, all set amongst a tropical paradise, maintaining its unique outdoor ambience. The latest upgrade introduced the Gold Coast to luxury, iconic global brands, leading Australian fashion stores and an abundance of dining options, ensuring Pacific Fair remains Queensland’s unmissable shopping and dining destination.
